I know its Dussehra!! But, what are we celebrating today??
As far as I know “Dussehra” is celebrated for the victory of
good over evil. And the tradition is that people would gather at one place,
there would be a mass gathering and then they would put on fire three different
statue. One statue would symbolize Raavan.
They say that, they hate raavan, he was not a good person because
he had kidnapped “Sita Mata”. But the other truth is that Raavan also took care
of Sita Mata as long as she was there in Lanka. And still we treat him like a
real bad person.
And here in real life we have so many inhuman people playing
around us, doing heinous crimes. They are not just kidnappers; they are
murderers and rapist also. But we will not dare burn these inhuman creatures.
The real evil still exists with us.
And we are happier to
burn a statue only. And we feel that we have witnessed the victory of good over
evil.
Shri Ram must not have expected this from us. What he must
have been trying to say is that look whenever there is a evil around, I want
you all to be brave and daring enough to fight against it. I want you all to be
brave and good human beings in life.
And I want you all to pass this same message to your coming
generations by your acts, by your karma (not by burning a statue).
But what we have done is that we have lost that message
somewhere in between and we have kept that statue with us, to which we put on
fire every year (and somehow it comes back again, the next year).
So, what are we celebrating today??
